Range Rules FAQ
Please watch this video before coming to the range on Range Safety and Etiquette
Can I shoot under the influence?
Absolutely not. If you are under the influence of any mind or mood altering substances, expect to be denied entry to the range. We do not tolerate the use of firearms on our range while under the influence for any reason. If we suspect that you are under the influence, you will be asked to leave.
Can I rent a gun?
Yes, provided that you are accompanied by another person or have your own firearm(s) present at the time of rental and you are at least 18 years old (rifles) or 21 years old (handguns and rifles). We do not rent to individuals who are alone and do not have a firearm with them. We do not rent to underage individuals.
What do I need for the range?
Every person intending to enter the range must provide proper ID and sign a Range Waiver before proceeding onto the range.
How long is the range?
Our range is 75 feet long or about 25 yards.
What type of experience is required to use the range?
NO inexperienced shooters are allowed on the range without an escort, and/or prior instruction, coaching, and approval of the Range Safety Officer. Inexperienced shooters will be allowed to shoot if escorted by an experienced shooter that stays with them at all times. It is the responsibility of the experienced shooter to ensure range safety. The Range Safety Officer will also monitor range safety. The Vault staff are on duty in the showroom and not available for escort unless a private lesson has been scheduled.
How old do you have to be to use the range?
Anyone under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and must be supervised at all times. The Vault reserves the right to ask any shooter to leave if unsafe behavior is observed. Non-shooting minors are not allowed on the range nor are they to be left unaccompanied in the store while the parent or legal guardian is on the range.
What type of ammo can I use on the range?
Steel cased/core, colored tip, and outside shotgun ammo is not allowed on the range. We will examine your ammo with a magnet. If any ammo sticks to the magnet, you must take it back to your car.
If you are using a shotgun on the range, you must inform range personnel. You will only be allowed to use our low recoil slugs.
If we find that you are using ammo that is explicitly prohibited on the range, you will be asked to leave.
What calibers can I shoot on the range?
Our range can handle up to 338 Lapua. Calibers .50 AE and .500 S&W are not allowed on the range.
If we find that you are using ammo that is explicitly prohibited on the range, you will be asked to leave.
What is proper attire for the range?
Closed toed shoes and high-neck shirts are recommended. Hot brass may burn you without proper attire.
